With OTA's starting next week, the Patriots are getting their roster ready for practices. On Wednesday, the team signed long snapper Wes Farnsworth. The signing was first reported by Farnsworth's agent Brett Tessler.

Farnsworth is entering his third NFL season, and spent time with the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins over the last two seasons. He entered the league as a UDFA from the University of Nevada.

In New England, Farnsworth will start off backing up Joe Cardona, who has been the Patriots' long snapper since 2015. Cardona is under contract through 2022.

With the signing, the Patriots now have 88 players on their 90-man roster. That includes Patrick Chung, whose retirement hasn't yet been made official by the team.
