• Patriots select Central Florida WR Tre Nixon with 242nd pick

  The Pats address the receiver position, after all.
  
  Standing at 6 feet and 187 pounds, Nixon's player comparison at NFL.com is Robby Anderson. Analyst Lance Zierlein likes Anderson's route-running, but believes his hands could use some work. Entering 2021 camp, Nixon represents a depth piece in the receiver room.

• Patriots select Colorado OT William Sherman with 197th pick

  Tackle is a long-term need for New England, and they finally address it here. Sherman is a lottery ticket, just like any other sixth-round pick. But the quick emergence of Michael Onwenu shows that Bill Belichick is capable of striking gold at this position at any point in the draft.

• Patriots select Missouri DB Joshuah Bledsoe with 188th pick

  The Pats end up addressing cornerback, albeit a lot later in the draft than some imagined. Bledsoe has good size at 6 feet and 200 pounds, and had one interception plus six pass breakups in 10 games as a senior at Missouri.
• Patriots select Michigan LB Cameron McGrone with 177th pick

  Bill Belichick has now taken a front-seven player from Michigan for three straight drafts. McGrone will join his former Wolverines teammates Chase Winovich and Josh Uche in New England. Also, it's yet another hit for the vaunted Felger and Mazz Big Board.

• Patriots select Oklahoma RB Rhamondre Stevenson with 120th pick

  This marks the second Oklahoma player drafted by the Patriots in this draft, as Stevenson joins DE Ronnie Perkins.

• Patriots select Oklahoma DL Ronnie Perkins with 96th overall pick

  The New England Patriots are selecting Oklahoma defensive lineman Ronnie Perkins with the 96th overall pick.
  
  Perkins played only six games for the Sooners in 2020, but made 5.5 sacks. The 6-foot-3, 274-pound edge rusher represents the compensatory selection the Patriots received for the departure of quarterback Tom Brady.

• Patriots select Alabama DT Christian Barmore with 38th pick

  A hit for the Felger and Mazz Big Board. The Patriots are drafting a second straight Alabama player with their second-round pick, moving up to No. 38 to select Christian Barmore. The 21-year-old is widely considered the best defensive tackle prospect in the draft.
  
  Barmore is big and explosive with elite upside as a disruptor on the interior. He just might need a couple of years of development to eliminate bad habits and maximize his talents. You have to have confidence that Bill Belichick will be able to get the most out of a player like Barmore. He may be the only rookie DT in the league to get any significant playing time in 2021.
  
  Barmore certainly has plenty of potential as an interior rusher. He totaled eight sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles in 2020 for the national champions.

  Jones becomes the highest pick ever for the Patriots under Bill Belichick. He was the only QB that Belichick saw in person himself at his Pro Day. And it didn't require a trade-up.
