Moving through the skill positions, the Felger & Mazz Big Board tackled tight ends on Tuesday. It’s an odd year to discuss the Patriots potentially drafting a tight end, after taking two with premium picks last season then spending money to sign the top two players at the position in free agency.

Still, the group Mazz and Murray picked seem to objectively be Patriots-type players. Although the chances are low of any of them being selected this week, it showed the Big Board isn’t going to get rusty during an off-year at the position.

Here’s a quick look at the three tight ends that were added to the Big Board on Monday…

• Brevin Jordan

  Share

  Strengths:

  • Highly decorated as in-line and slot option.
  • Scrambles open on off-schedule pass plays.
  • Absorbs heavy strikes and continues on after the catch.

  Weaknesses:

  • Drops head into contact and blocks with erratic technique.
  • Balance is volatile in pattern work.
  • Tight hips restrict intermediate opportunities.

• Tony Poljan

  Share

  Strengths:

  • Big guy with frame to get even bigger.
  • Feel and feet to make sudden catch near boundary.
  • Decent athleticism to uncover in space against linebackers.

  Weaknesses:

  • Too easily detoured by route redirection.
  • Tight hips with strides that barely leave the ground.
  • Needs to make defender feel his size at the catch point.

• Nick Eubanks

  Share

  Strengths:

  • Filled out frame with good mass during time at Michigan.
  • Displays good in-air agility.
  • Leaps, turns and secures throws behind him.

  Weaknesses:

  • Doesn't have in-line run-blocking in his heart.
  • Needs to get eyes to quarterback and become catch-ready sooner.
  • Would benefit from basketball box-out against coverage.
