Bruins sign Brady Lyle to entry-level deal
The Bruins have signed defenseman Brady Lyle to an NHL contract.

Minas Panagiotakis/Getty ImagesIt took defenseman Brady Lyle just over a calendar year to turn his opportunity with the P-Bruins into an NHL contract, with Lyle signed to a two-year entry-level contract with an annual NHL cap hit of $800,000 with the Bruins on Monday.
A 6-foot-3 right-shot defender, Lyle has appeared in 19 games for Providence in 2020-21, with six goals and six assists for 12 points with a plus-10 rating. His six goals are also tied for the lead among AHL defenseman in goals.
Prior to turning pro, the North Bay, Ont. native spent five seasons in the OHL between the North Bay Battalion and Owen Sound Attack, with 49 goals and 175 points in 295 total games. Lyle went out with a bang in 2019-20, too, with a season that included 22 goals and 65 points in 62 games for Owen Sound.
During his OHL run, Lyle had training camp stints with both the Anaheim Ducks and Arizona Coyotes, and appeared in six games for Detva HC (Slovakia) before reporting to the P-Bruins for the 2021 season.
The P-Bruins are currently atop the three-team Atlantic Division, at 14-4-1 on the season.
