The Boston Bruins could continue their upward trend in the health department this week.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters that defenseman Matt Grzelcyk skated with the team on Monday morning, and he’s trending toward a return during the Bruins’ upcoming slate of games. If there’s “no setback” with his upper-body injury, Grzelcyk could be back in the Bruins lineup as soon as Tuesday’s road game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Grzelcyk’s return would present an interesting decision for Cassidy on the left side of the Bruins defense. Jeremy Lauzon is coming off a strong defensive effort against the Capitals, while trade deadline addition Mike Reilly has logged two assists and averaged 22:53 of ice time in four games and may have played himself into a regular spot in the lineup. Cassidy would have to choose two out of Lauzon, Reilly, Jakub Zboril, and Jarred Tinordi to round out his left-shot D-men.
