The Patriots have struggled to find a true backup/developmental center for the last few years. Last season, they drafted Dustin Woodard in the seventh round, only to have him retire before training camp. If they want to take another stab at it this year, Penn State’s Michal Menet would be a logical choice. He has solid technique, good athleticism, and understands the game well, allowing him to help the quarterback with pre-snap adjustments at the line of scrimmage. He’ll need to develop as a run blocker at the next level, but his issues are all coachable - and what better place to learn than New England. He should be a Day 3 pick.
