The Patriots continue to round out their roster after a busy first week of free agency. Their latest signing is linebacker and special teams ace LaRoy Reynolds. Reynolds announced the signing himself via his Instagram account on Wednesday.

Originally a UDFA out of Virginia in 2013, Reynolds has spent eight NFL seasons with five different teams. He spent 2020 with the Atlanta Falcons, his second stint with the organization.

In 115 career games, Reynolds has played 1,886 special teams snaps, and 413 on defense as a linebacker. The 30-year-old has recorded 117 tackles, and forced three fumbles in his career.

With the Patriots, Reynolds will compete for a spot on one of the best special teams units in the league. Just yesterday, the team waived linebacker Cassh Maluia, who was expected to compete for a similar role.
