Pasta’s feelings are hurt.

David Pastrnak isn’t just one of the NHL’s brilliant scorers. He’s an underrated personality, too. It shined through after the Bruins’ dominant win over the Flyers at Lake Tahoe, when Pastrnak talked to the guys from NBC Sports about the game.

There’s a problem, though. In the locker room the Bruins were playing Aqua’s iconic 1997 hit “Barbie Girl,” which must be an absolute classic for someone Pastrnak’s age. Instead, he had to a stop-and-chat with friggin’ Mike Tirico and Eddie Olczyk. Watch the clip below, via Conor Ryan of the Boston Sports Journal.

“We were listening to Barbie Girl before you guys asked me to do media,” Pastrnak said, wearing his “Macho Man” Randy Savage shades. “I was kind of dancing with these glasses out in the locker room, then you guys ruined it and I had to go answer questions.

“So I missed the Barbie girl song. Who knows what’s going to be playing there when I get back.”

The NHL had its share of misadventures during its time out at Lake Tahoe. Forgetting how the sun works was among the biggest problems.

But robbing Pastrnak of the opportunity to dance to “Barbie Girl” with the boys? Inexcusable. For all we know he returned and he’d missed the Daft Punk dance-along.

NBC Sports clearly isn’t brushed up on classic late-’90s pop. Listen to this and tell me you want to pull Pastrnak away from it again.

Anyone who grew up in the late ’90s might feel old now, thanks to Pastrnak and his feelings on “Barbie Girl.” Feels like yesterday when weird Euro-pop anthems inexplicably crossed over to America with massive success, like “Barbie Girl” or Chumbawumba’s “Tubthumping” or Eiffel 65’s “Blue (Da Ba Dee).” To Pastrnak it’s like classic rock now.

Oh, and Mr. Hat Trick had a pretty good game on Sunday too.
