Pats Pod: Making sense of the quarterback carousel
It’s time to get into what Adam Schefter is describing as an “unprecedented” level of quarterback movement coming in the 2021 NFL offseason. Matt Dolloff and Alex Barth go over all of the biggest names at QB to watch as the offseason unfolds, and the chances of any of them landing with the Patriots. Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Matthew Stafford are discussed as the top candidates to play in new uniforms in 2021.
Eventually the guys switch to the NFL Draft, where the Patriots have the 15th and 47th picks. If they’re going to draft a quarterback, Matt explains why it almost certainly has to be in the first two rounds – but they shouldn’t reach for a guy unless they know he’s the next franchise QB. Matt and Alex take an early look at the QB prospects realistically in the Patriots’ range this year.
