Currently riding a three game losing streak, the Celtics are looking for a spark. It looks like they could get one to start the week, in the form of their top scorer.
Speaking with reporters Sunday afternoon, Brad Stevens said he anticipates Jayson Tatum will return to the lineup on Monday. Tatum has been away from the team since testing positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
Tatum’s preparation to return to play began early last week, according to Stevens and Danny Ainge. Once he does get back on the floor, expect a ramp-up period, as we’ve seen from other players who have missed time such as Robert Williams and Kemba Walker.
Since Tatum last played on January 8 the Celtics are just 1-3, and will play one more game without him Sunday night against the Cavaliers. When he returns on Monday night, they’ll face the Bills in Chicago, with a 9:00 p.m. tip.
