New England Patriots

Heading into a short week, the Patriots made a number of roster-readjustments on Tuesday.

According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, rookie linebacker Cassh Maluia has been waived. A sixth-round pick this past spring, Maluia played in six games for the Patriots this season, entirely on special teams. He was active but did not play in the team’s Monday night win over the Jets. If Maluia goes unclaimed, he could end up back on the Patriots’ practice squad.

Maluia’s exit opens up a spot on the roster as the Patriots make room for their three deadline week additions in WR Isaiah Ford, DT Isaiah Mack, and TE Jordan Thomas.

The team also signed a pair of tight ends to the practice squad, per Reiss. David Wells and Dylan Cantrell, the later of who worked out for the Patriots last week, will give the team some much-needed depth at the position. Earlier in the day, rookie tight end Dalton Keene was placed on IR.

To make room on the practice squad, the team released defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow, who was signed last week. With Mack coming in and Carl Davis now healthy, the Patriots depth at the position is looking much brighter than it was a week ago.
