The Patriots added depth to their defensive line Tuesday, adding defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow to the practice squad. Glasgow had a workout with the Patriots on Saturday.
A 2017 fourth-round pick, Glasgow played 16 games with the Cincinnati Bengals as a rookie. However, he played just eight over the past two years due to knee injuries including a torn ACL. He was waived this past July, and spent the early part of the 2020 season on the Houston Texans practice squad before being released in late October.
At 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, Glasgow could help the Patriots as a true nose tackle. The player originally penciled into that role, free agent signee Beau Allen, was ruled out for the rest of the season earlier this week.
Glasgow joins UDFA rookie Bill Murray as the defensive tackles on the Patriots’ practice squad. On the active roster, the team has Adam Butler, Byron Cowart, Carl Davis, Isaiah Mack, Nick Thurman, and Lawrence Guy. Guy gets the most snaps of the group, but left Sunday’s loss early with an injury.
