NFL Draft nuts who were hoping to see Trevor Lawrence are going to need to temper those expectations in the coming weeks.

As first reported by NFL Network’s Mike Gasrafolo, Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19. The Clemson quarterback is the consensus number one overall pick in next April’s NFL Draft.

According to a statement from Lawrence, he is now in isolation and has ‘mild symptoms.’ Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney released a statement as well.

Lawrence will now miss Clemson’s home game Saturday against Boston College. Next week, the top ranked Tigers are set to play fourth-ranked Notre Dame. It’s unclear whether Lawrence will be available for that date – ACC policy states anybody testing positive must isolate for a minimum 10 days, so it would depend on when Lawrence took his positive test.

True freshman DJ Uiagalelei is expected to start in Lawrence’s place.
