UPDATE: Jeff Howe of the Athletic is reporting Sony Michel has tested positive for COVID-19, white Mason and Rivers were added to the reserve list due to exposure.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the team has placed running back Sony Michel, guard Shaq Mason, and defensive end Derek Rivers on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

That is is for players who have either tested positive themselves or have had “close contact with infected person or persons.” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting that the moves were not the result of new positive tests.

The Patriots have now placed four players on the COVID reserve list in the last two days – center James Ferentz was added on Friday. This came after a positive test Thursday night forced the team to cancel practice and close the facility.

It was reported Saturday morning that the team planned to hold a walkthrough at Gillette Stadium. It’s unknown if any of the three players added to the COVID list were present.

This isn’t the first COVID news of the day relating to Sunday’s game – the Broncos announced a coach had tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday morning.

Despite the setbacks, the Patriots and Broncos are still expected to play tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., according to multiple reports. You can catch the call of the game on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with pregame coverage starting at 10 a.m..
