Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network first reported the news Wednesday.

The Patriots are also not practicing on Wednesday, the team confirmed to reporters. Bill Belichick’s scheduled video conference has been postponed.

Once placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Gilmore will have to wait at least five days with no symptoms or positive tests to rejoin the team. Even if that happened, this means he will not be available for the Patriots’ game on Sunday against the Denver Broncos at Gillette Stadium.

Stephon Gilmore becomes the third Patriot to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, joining quarterback Cam Newton and practice squad defensive tackle Bill Murray.

Of course, this is a fluid situation, as is everything involving COVID-19. The status of the game itself could be up in the air. We’ll keep you updated on every development here at
