Six Celtics scored in double-figures while the team played dominating defense in a 111-89 blowout win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 on Monday. Boston never trailed, taking a 27-point lead to halftime and never looking back.
The Celtics scored and defended early and often, notching 25 points to the Raptors’ 11 as Toronto shot an abysmal 4-for-20 from the floor as a team in the first quarter. Boston only continued to surge in the second, as Jaylen Brown and others scored at will. Brown led all scorers on the night with 27 points.
In addition, the C’s had five other players score in double-figures: Kemba Walker (21), Jayson Tatum (18), Daniel Theis (15), Brad Wanamaker (15), and Marcus Smart (12).
Theis went 5-for-5 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line in an efficient night, adding eight rebounds and two blocked shots against just one turnover. Tatum led the team with 10 rebounds on what was an off shooting night for him (5-for-15 from the field, 1-for-5 from three).
