The Patriots are planning to sign undrafted wide receiver Andre Baccellia out of Washington, according to NESN’s Doug Kyed. Baccellia was one of four wideouts who recently came to Foxboro for a workout.
Baccellia originally signed with the Kansas City Chiefs after the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Chiefs waived Baccellia last week.
As a senior at Washington, Baccellia caught 29 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. He compiled 107 career receptions, 1,183 yards, and five touchdowns in 39 career games. He was also credited with a rushing touchdown against USC in 2019.
The Patriots announced on Friday that they are releasing former Auburn receiver Will Hastings as a corresponding move. They had previously released Hastings before re-signing him as part of their roster shuffling during training camp.
