The New England Patriots announced on Monday that they've signed undrafted rookie defensive lineman Michael Barnett out of Georgia.

Barnett, a former teammate of Patriots running back Sony Michel and left tackle Isaiah Wynn with the Bulldogs, played 46 games at Georgia from 2015-19. During that time, he compiled 47 tackles and two pass breakups. He registered a career-best 23 tackles as a senior in 2019, starting six games.

The 6-foot-4, 304-pound Barnett joins a Patriots defensive line depth chart that includes Lawrence Guy, Adam Butler, Deatrich Wise, Derek Rivers, John Simon, Chase Winovich, Byron Cowart, Beau Allen, Nick Thurman, Tashawn Bower, the recently signed Xavier Williams, and undrafted rookie Bill Murray.
