Patriots re-sign kicker Nick Folk, veteran makes practice debut Monday
UPDATE: Confirming prior reports, the Patriots have re-signed kicker Nick Folk. He was present at Monday’s practice in Foxboro, wearing No. 6.
The Patriots brought in kicker Nick Folk for a free-agent visit on Saturday, as first reported by Jeff Howe of The Athletic. According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the plan is for the team to re-sign Folk on Monday.
Folk played seven games for the Patriots in 2019, after the team lost longtime kicker Stephen Gostkowski during the season. He made all 12 of his extra-point attempts, but went just 14-for-17 (82.4 percent) on field goal attempts. Two of Folk’s misses came in a rain-soaked 13-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys at Gillette Stadium.
The team’s reported intention to sign Folk comes as rookie kicker Justin Rohrwasser is dealing with an injury, according to Howe. Rohrwasser, a fifth-round pick out of Marshall, hasn’t kicked field goals in live drills at Patriots training camp since Monday.

Per NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry, Rohrwasser went 3-for-5 in live field goal drills in his only public practice on Monday.
Folk is entering his 13th season in the NFL. He previously played with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Patriots in 2019.
