The number of players missing from Patriots training camp practice has grown for the fourth straight day. Nine players, a team-high for camp so far, were not spotted on the practice field Thursday morning.

Those nine are Stephon Gilmore, Adrian Phillips, Yodny Cajuste, N’Keal Harry, Beau Allen, Derek Rivers, Tashawn Bower, Sony Michel, and Lamar Miller.

For Gilmore, Phillips, and Cajuste, it’s their first day of missed practice this year. Meanwhile, Allen, Michel, and Miller haven’t been on the field at any point during camp.

No reasons have been gives for any of the absences, although Michel and Miller are on PUP and therefore not eligible to practice.

The good news is the team did see two rookies return Thursday morning. Third-round linebacker Anfernee Jennings and UDFA wide receiver Jeff Thomas, who are both expected to play key roles for the Patriots in 2020, took the field for the first time this year.
