With training camp underway, the New England Patriots continued to look outside the organization for potential help. That quest included Friday workouts for free agents Jordan Leggett and Darius Kilgo, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

A 6-foot-5 tight end, Leggett's most notable NFL run came in 2018 as a member of the New York Jets. Appearing in 15 games for Gang Green, Leggett totaled 14 catches on 25 targets for 114 yards and a touchdown.

Claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay, Leggett spent 2019 with the Buccaneers, both on the practice squad and active roster, but did not compile any stats during his active-roster run. He did, however, total three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown during his 2019 preseason run with the Bucs.

The 25-year-old Leggett's invitation to Foxborough comes following Matt LaCosse's decision to opt out of the 2020 NFL season, leaving the Patriots down an experienced tight end, and with the team reportedly showing interest in Delanie Walker.

A 6-foot-3, 319-pound defensive tackle, Kilgo spent last year on the Lions' injured reserve, and is familiar with the Patriots, having spent parts of both 2016 and 2017 on the New England practice squad.

Kilgo has totaled 16 tackles in a 29-game NFL career between the Broncos and Titans.
