The NHL's newest team has finally confirmed its long-rumored name. They are officially the Seattle Kraken.

"Sockeyes" was another possibility for the name. "Seattle Kraken" certainly rolls off the tongue, and is paired with a logo that will inevitably become polarizing because what isn't polarizing these days?

As you can see in the below tweet from Frank Seravalli, the Kraken logo is paired with an anchor featuring a Space Needle design on the shoulders of the uniforms.

Watching games between the Kraken and Canucks might get a little confusing. But if you're a fan of blue you're probably a fan of the Kraken logo. Considering today's culture, the name itself will probably be debated until the end of time.

There's a whole story behind the name and logo at the Seattle Kraken website.
