By way of the Montreal Impact’s 1-0 win over D.C. United last night, the Revolution are set to face the Philadelphia Union in the first round of the MLS is Back Tournament knockout stage.
The Revs clinched their spot on the elimination stage with a 0-0 draw against Toronto FC on Tuesday morning. They finished the group stage second place in Group C, with a 1-0-2 record. Gustavo Bou and Adam Buksa scored for the Revs in the stage. Goalie Matt Turner made 11 saves on 12 shots during the stage.
Philly finished group play second in Group A, with wins over New York City FC and Inter Miami FC.
Lead by captain Alejandro Bedoya, Philadelphia scored four goals in their three preliminary games. In net, the Union have 29-year old Andre Blake. The 2019 MLS All-Star stopped 12 of the 14 shots on goal during the group stage.
The two teams will meet Saturday at 10:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to a quarterfinals match on July 30. You can find all of the Revs’ action on 98.5 The Sports Hub and the HD2 channel.
