It appears that Cam Newton is wasting no time diving head-first into the Patriots' playbook.
The newly signed free-agent quarterback posted a new photo on Instagram Tuesday, and instead of a physical workout, it's a mental one - with what is ostensibly the X's and O's of the Patriots' system, something that both Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer have a leg up on entering training camp.

"This [expletive] calculus!" Newton joked, apparently referring to the Patriots' famously complex offense, derived from the concepts and verbiage of the Eihardt-Perkins system that's prevalent in many other programs. Newton also mentioned Pats receiver Julian Edelman as part of the post.

Picking up the system will be key to Newton's development and assimilation into the Patriots upon his arrival, especially with Stidham and Hoyer getting a head start in that department.
