Wrestling Inside The Ropes Report

According to multiple reports, it appears that WWE intends to move forward with a plan to hold its annual SummerSlam event at a location other than TD Garden in Boston.

Per Mike Johnson at PW Insider, WWE is expected to hold the SummerSlam pay-per-view from the Performance Center on Sunday, August 23. It’s now expected that the COVID-19 pandemic will prevent four WWE events that were supposed to take place at TD Garden: SummerSlam, NXT Takeover, Monday Night Raw, and Friday Night Smackdown.

WrestleVotes on Twitter reported last week that, while a decision is not imminent, holding SummerSlam at the Performance Center in Orlando, Fla. is “very much on the table” and it’s very unlikely they’d be able to hold any event with fans before the end of the summer.
