The Boston Celtics will begin the 2019-20 season restart on July 31 against the Milwaukee Bucks, the league announced Friday on a special schedule release edition of ESPN’s NBA Countdown.
That opener will be part of what is a six-game Friday for the NBA, and will be the deciding game in the season series between the C’s and Bucks, as the sides split their first two head-to-heads of the season.
Including this opener, the Celtics will play eight games in 14 days before beginning the 2020 NBA Playoffs on Aug. 17. The entire 2020 postseason will be played in the Disney World ‘bubble’ in Orlando. During their entire Disney run, the Celtics will be among those staying at the Grand Destino, which will house the top four teams in each conference.
The 2019-20 season paused with the C’s as the third-best team in the Eastern Conference, at 43-21. Boston is currently three games away from the No. 2 seed Raptors, and have a two and a half game lead over the No. 4 seed Heat.
