James White: Patriots will peacefully protest in some form during 2020 season

Patriots running back James White told reporters on Thursday he’s sure that “guys will peacefully protest in some type of form or fashion” when asked about recent events in the United States and the NFL’s response.
Here’s what White said:
“I’m sure we will figure something out as a team. I’m not exactly sure what that will be but I’m sure guys will peacefully protest in some type of form or fashion. Colin Kaepernick was trying to raise awareness for situations like these a while back and people have continued to raise awareness about it but now the world is seeing how a bunch of people feel and I think everybody’s trying to understand and get a better grasp of everything so things can change in a positive manner.”

White released a statement via Instagram last week that began with: “As a black person in America all we ask is to be treated justly.” He and Devin & Jason McCourty have been vocal about the unrest across the country in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Boston has played host to a number of peaceful protests, the first of which descended into clashes with police, riots, and looting in the city after nightfall on May 31.
The Kraft family recently pledged to make 10 donations of $100,000 each to local grassroots organizations, with the aim of “fighting for equity, working to end systemic racism, and creating meaningful change in our community.” In addition, the NFL announced on Thursday that it will make 10 annual donations of $25 million to “a fund to combat systemic racism and support the battle against injustices faced by African Americans.”
Pats head coach Bill Belichick recently facilitated an open discussion with players about recent events in the country, crediting Devin McCourty with inspiring him to take a more active voice in enacting change.
