Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, and Romeo Langford recently took part in a light shoot-around for the Celtics at the Auerbach Center in Brighton. You can watch a clip of Tatum making baskets in the above video via Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston.
Mass. governor Charlie Baker officially allowed Boston sports teams to return to their teams’ facilities starting last Saturday, June 6. Tatum, Hayward, and Langford’s return to the Auerbach Center comes amid the NBA’s plan to move forward with a 22-team format that will finish the regular season as a play-in round and transition into the playoffs. Games will take place in Orlando, Fl.
Tatum reportedly could be in line for a max contract in the offseason. The 22-year-old was averaging 23.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game when the NBA shut down in mid-March.
The league previously targeted a return date of July 31, but Shams Charania is now reporting that the “play-in tourney” would take place Aug. 16-17. The Celtics (43-21) are currently the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
