Special guests will flood your TVs Thursday night, as the NFL Network officially unveils the 2020 NFL schedule in a three-hour special. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is among those special guests.
NFL Media announced Belichick as one of many guests on Thursday’s show via Twitter. Others with Patriots ties expected to appear include Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and Giants head coach Joe Judge. Seventeen total head coaches are expected to appear, including Andy Reid, Kyle Shanahan, Mike Tomlin, Pete Carroll, Sean McVay, Bruce Arians, and Ron Rivera.
Three active players will appear on the special: Ravens running back Mark Ingram, Texans wideout Randall Cobb, and Chargers safety Derwin James. Commentators Joe Buck, Al Michaels, and Jim Nantz are also on the NFL’s latest list of guests for the three-hour program, which will unveil and analyze the 2020 NFL schedule for all 32 teams.
There are conflicting reports as to how the actual NFL schedule will start. According to Nick Underhill at NewOrleans.football, Tom Brady’s Buccaneers are expected to open 2020 against the Saints. That would refute a previous report by John Clayton that the season would start with four weeks of inter-conference matchups between AFC and NFC teams.
Every report about the NFL schedule has become impossible to believe. Guess we’ll all have to tune in at 8:00 ET for the whole truth. The Belichick part is true, though. We’ll see if he’s still hanging back in Nantucket where he and his dog Nike put together his draft station.
