Bill Belichick may need to make room for another award on his mantle, although this one isn’t coming from the NFL.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that Belichick has been nominated for a Sports Emmy in the category of “Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Analyst.” The nomination is for his work on NFL Network’s Top 100 show, which listed and analyzed the best players and coaches in the history of the league in celebration of the NFL’s centennial year.
Belichick is nominated alongside Charles Barkley, Jay Bilas, Al Leiter, Kenny Smith, and Michael Strahan.
The ceremony announcing the winners was originally scheduled to take place in New York City on April 28, but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No new date has been set.
