Here’s the key stories in sports to start the day from 98.5 The Sports Hub…

Celtics hold at deadline:For the fifth year in a row, the Celtics have elected not to make a deal at the NBA’s trade deadline. Despite being linked to numerous players throughout the day, the price of business ended up being too rich for Celtics GM Danny Ainge. They are expected to be players in the upcoming buyout market.

Betts trade being renegotiated: Following issues with Brusdar Graterol’s physical, the Red Sox, Dodgers, and Twins are trying to rework the blockbuster trade that is supposed to send Mookie Betts to LA. According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the trade may no longer be “a certainty.”

MLB Red Sox investigation update: Rob Manfred told reporters Thursday afternoon he expects a resolution to the league’s investigation into the Red Sox cheating scandal to come to a close by the time the Red Sox begin Spring Training. Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Fort Myers on Tuesday.

This Weekend’s Games:

Boston Bruins vs. Atlanta Hawks, Friday 7:30 p.m.: The Celtics come out of the deadline looking to run their winning streak to six games as the welcome the Atlanta Hawks to TD Garden. Boston is 2-0 against Atlanta this season, including a 123-115 over the Hawks on Monday. The Celtics come into this one pretty roughed up. They will be without Daniel Theis (ankle) and Robert Williams (hip) for the game while five other players’ statuses are still in doubt, including Jaylen Brown (ankle). Sean Grande and Cedric Maxwell will have the call on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with pregame coverage starting at 7.

Boston Bruins vs. Arizona, Saturday 3:00 p.m.: Coming off their overtime win and riding a five-game win streak, the Bruins welcome the Coyotes to TD Garden Saturday afternoon. The B’s topped Arizona in their second game of the season, a 1-0 win in the desert. Judd Sirott and Bob Beers have the call on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with pregame starting at 2:30.

Boston Bruins @ Detroit Red Wings, Sunday 12:30 p.m.: It’ll be a tough turnaround for the Bruins, who will play two games in two different cities in less than 24-hours. This weekend in the Bruins’ third set of back-to-backs since the All-Star break and sixth game in a 10 day span. Judd Sirott and Bob Beers are on the call for 98.5 The Sports Hub, with pregame coverage beginning at noon.

Boston Celtics @ Oklahoma City Thunder, Sunday 3:30 p.m.: The Celtics begin a tough three-game stretch before the All-Star break when they head to OKC on Sunday. It’ll be the first meeting between the two teams this season. Brad Stevens’ team won both games against the Thunder last year, and haven’t lost to Oklahoma City since 2016 (four straight wins).
