Monday night, Jaylen Brown punctuated the Celtics 139-107 win over the Lakers with his poster dunk on LeBron James. Wednesday night, he will watch from the bench, sidelined with a right ankle sprain, the Celtics announced Wednesday afternoon. Brown aggravated the ankle during Monday night’s game, and was listed as questionable yesterday before being downgraded.

Brown has seen a resurgence this year after a down season in 2018-19. He’s the Celtics third leading scorer, averaging 20 points per game and shooting 49% from the floor. He’s coming off of a 20 point, 6 assist, 3 steal performance against the Lakers.

The good news for the Celtics is overall, they are just about as healthy as a team as they have been all season. Only two other players appeared on the injury report for Wednesday night’s game. Kemba Walker is dealing with left knee soreness, but is probable, while Robert Williams continues to work his way back from a hip injury, he remains out.

The Celtics welcome the 20-23 Memphis Grizzlies to TD Garden tonight with tip-off scheduled for 7:30. Sean Grande and Cedric Maxwell have the call on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with pregame coverage starting at 7:00.
