The Mike Nugent Era will come to an end in New England, as the Patriots are moving on from the veteran kicker, according to NFL insider Albert Breer.
The decision to move on Nugent comes after just four games with the Pats, but with Nugent converting on just five of his eight field goal attempts, and 15 of his 16 extra-point tries. The 37-year-old went 2-for-4 in Sunday's win over the Browns.
With Nugent cut, the Patriots will once again have to scour the kicking market in search of an answer.
The good news is that the team has worked out about a billion kickers to date, meaning they know who's out there.
The market has a new option, too, as the Falcons released 44-year-old Matt Bryant on Tuesday. Bryant has made nine of his 14 field goal attempts in 2019, with four of his five misses coming from 50 yards and out.
