David Price rocked as Sox fall to Baltimore 11-2
BALTIMORE – David Price opened himself up to criticism this week by stirring up his feud once again with team broadcaster and Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley.
He’s now about to get plenty of flak for his performance on the field along with his comments off it.
Price was rocked by the lowly Baltimore Orioles in an 11-2 loss Friday night. It was the lefty’s first ever career loss at Camden Yards.
Price gave up six runs in four innings of work, including two home runs. Anthony Santander hit a three-run homer in the first and Keon Broxton added a two-run shot in the fourth.
He entered Friday night with an 8-0 record and a 2.72 ERA over 12 appearances in Baltimore.
Sam Travis provided the only offense for the Red Sox, a two-run homer.
Rick Porcello (7-7, 5.37 ERA) will take the ball on Saturday as the series continues. The Red Sox also expect to activate Nathan Eovaldi from the injured list.
