BOSTON – Mookie Betts worked a bases-loaded, no outs walk in the ninth inning to force in the winning run as the Red Sox beat the Rangers 4-3 Wednesday at Fenway Park.
Christian Vazquez doubled to lead off the ninth and was pinch-run for by Marco Hernandez. Jackie Bradley Jr. singled and Michael Chavis walked on four pitches to bring Betts to the plate. Rangers right-hander Jesse Chavez (2-2) threw just one strike in his final nine pitches to end the game.
Matt Barnes (3-1) picked up the win after tossing a scoreless ninth inning.
Rick Porcello had a strong outing, tossing 6 2/3 innings of two-run baseball. He allowed five hits and struck out six.
Andrew Benintendi had a big day, going 3-for-4 with two runs driven in. Benintendi doubled twice and knocked the game-tying triple in the third inning.

Rafael Devers also drove in a run in the win.
The Red Sox and Rangers will wrap up their four-game series Thursday night. David Price (4-2, 2.70 ERA) will take the ball against right-hander Adrian Sampson (5-3, 3.72 ERA).
