The Boston Celtics reported via Twitter on Thursday that president of basketball ops Danny Ainge suffered a mild heart attack on Tuesday in Milwaukee. Ainge received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery.

Ainge is expected to return to Boston "shortly", per the team's announcement. The Celtics continue their series with the Bucks on Thursday at TD Garden in Game 3. Milwaukee rebounded from a Game 1 loss to take Game 2 on Tuesday and tie the series 1-1.

It's unclear exactly where or when Ainge was at the time of the mild heart attack in Milwaukee. The Celtics expect to provide further updates as they become available.

The Celtics originally hired Ainge as Executive Director of Basketball Operations in 2003. He was promoted to President of Basketball Operations in 2008, after the Celtics won their first NBA championship under his front-office leadership. Ainge also won two NBA titles as a player with Larry Bird and the Celtics, in 1984 and 1986.
