Adam Jones and Christian Arcand have spent plenty of time looking at the 2019 NFL Draft and potential picks for the Patriots. Check out all of the 2019 editions of “The Draft List” below.
This is the Patriots’ No. 1 draft need, according to Jones. He picks Irv Smith of Alabama for the Patriots at No. 32, while Arcand goes with Jace Sternberger of Texas A&M.
Jones and Arcand look at a deep class of wide receivers, which they say is the Patriots’ second-biggest need to tight end. Arcand’s pick (assuming Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is off the board) is Deebo Samuel out of South Carolina, while Jones picks N’Keal Harry of Arizona State.
The guys spotlight the quarterbacks that could still be on the board at No. 32 and beyond. Arcand says Will Grier out of West Virginia is the guy for the Patriots. Jones likes Brett Rypien out of Boise State.
You can never have enough young pass rushers. Jones and Arcand dive into a strong defensive end class to see who the Pats might take at 32. Arcand likes Jaylon Ferguson of Louisiana Tech. Jones goes with Anthony Nelson of Iowa.
The Patriots could use edge rushers, but they could also use an interior defensive lineman. Jones and Arcand pore over who might be the right pick at 32. Arcand picks Dexter Lawrence out of Clemson, while Jones likes Jerry Tillery from Notre Dame.
The Patriots look good at linebacker right now, but they could use a pick for the future. Arcand likes Terrill Hanks from New Mexico State. Jones’ pick is Mack Wilson out of Alabama.
