Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers finally have a playoff schedule to call their own.

With the 2019 NBA Playoff field set following Wednesday’s season-ending finals, it’s official that the Celtics and Pacers will begin their first-round series Sunday afternoon at TD Garden.

The series will then get a two-day layoff before a Wednesday night Game 2 meeting. The Celtics will then head to Indiana for two games, including an Easter Sunday matinee Game 4 in Indianapolis.

And though the Celtics will be without Marcus Smart for the next four to six weeks, they should feel confident about his matchup given the fact that they captured wins in three of their four head-to-heads with the Pacers this season.

The Celtics advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight season last year. But for the second year in a row, LeBron James and the Cavaliers proved to be too much for the C’s. Fortunately for Boston, James is no longer with the Cavs (nor did Cleveland qualify for the postseason this season), and they have Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward back in action.
