Tom Brady’s retirement is no laughing matter. Unless you’re Tom Brady and your first tweet is a retirement joke on April Fools Day.
Brady, who has been a fixture on Instagram and Facebook for years, made his long-awaited Twitter debut on Monday by joking that he’s retiring. “In my spare time, I will be tweeting #LFG,” he added.
I'm retiring. In my spare time, I'll be tweeting #LFG

Fortunately, many Twitter users were keenly aware of the date at the time of the tweet. So it was fairly obvious that Brady was just trying to fool people on the biggest day of the year to mess with fools.
After letting everyone twist in the wind for over an hour, Brady asked if he’d made a bad joke. It wasn’t a bad joke so much as a dad joke.
Was this a bad joke?

In case you’re somehow still wondering, Brady isn’t retiring. He’ll play his 20th NFL season in 2019 at age 42. April Fools! Fans of other AFC teams probably laughed at this the least.
