98.5 The Sports Hub Staff Predictions: 2019 Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox are trying to become the first team since the 1999-2000 Yankees to win back-to-back World Series titles.

Only one Sports Hub staffer is predicting they will accomplish that feat.

Don't worry, Red Sox fans, we weren't exactly great at predicting the Red Sox postseason run last year. In fact, our ALCS picks were truly awful.

You can find our staff picks for the 2019 Red Sox season below:

Mike Felger (Felger & Mazz):

Red Sox win total: 98 games (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: Wild card loss.

World Series matchup: Milwaukee Brewers over Houston Astros.

Red Sox saves leader: Ryan Madsen.

Tony Massarotti (Felger & Mazz):

Red Sox win total: 94 wins (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: Eliminated in ALDS.

World Series matchup: New York Yankees over Chicago Cubs.

Red Sox saves leader: Ryan Brasier.

Big Jim Murray (Felger & Mazz):

Red Sox win total: 100 wins (1st AL East).

Playoff outcome: ALCS loss to Houston.

World Series matchup: The Houston Astros and Washington Nationals, which literally nobody will watch, en route to Houston's 2nd championship in 3 years.

Red Sox saves leader: /Spins wheel of gutless bums, lands on......Ryan Brasier.

James Stewart (Executive Producer, Felger & Mazz):

Red Sox win total: 100 wins (1st AL East).

Playoff outcome: Losing to Cleveland in the ALCS.

World Series matchup: Cleveland Indians over Atlanta Braves in 6 games.

Red Sox saves leader: Someone not currently on the roster. If I'm picking a current Red Sox roster player, Ryan Brasier.

Billy Lanni (Director of Communications, Felger & Mazz):

Red Sox win total: 102 wins (1st AL East).

Playoff outcome: World Series loss.

World Series matchup: Cubs over Red Sox in 6 games.

Red Sox saves leader: Ryan Brasier.

Adam Jones (The Adam Jones Show):

Red Sox win total: 96 games (2nd AL East, behind Yankees). Matching last season's intensity over 162 games will be the key question, aside from the bullpen.

Playoff outcome: They will beat Minnesota in the Wild Card game, before bowing out in a gentlemen's sweep (five games) in the ALCS against New York.

World Series matchup: Phillies over Yankees. What can I say? I'm a sucker for splashy offseasons. And Harper, Realmuto, McCutchen and Robertson is about as splashy as it gets.

Red Sox saves leader: Durbin Feltman (aka Dalton Furbush). Even if it came at TCU, he arguably has the most closing experience in the Red Sox bullpen. He may not start the year in the big leagues, but he'll finish there.

Christian Arcand (The Adam Jones Show):

Red Sox win total: 97 wins (1st AL East)

Playoff outcome: Repeat as WS Champions

World Series matchup: Red Sox over Rockies

Red Sox saves leader: Matt Barnes

Matt McCarthy (98.5 The Sports Hub Hardcore Baseball):

Red Sox win total: 99 wins (1st AL East).

Playoff outcome: World Series win.

World Series matchup: Boston Red Sox over Chicago Cubs in 7 games.

Red Sox saves leader: Matt Barnes, but the Red Sox will acquire another closer at the deadline.

Marshall Hook (98.5 The Sports Hub):

Red Sox win total: 91 wins (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: Divisional round loss.

World Series matchup: Astros will beat Dodgers, again.

Red Sox saves leader: Craig Kimbrel.

Mike "Sarge" Riley (98.5 The Sports Hub):

Red Sox win total: 96 wins (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: ALCS loss to Yankees.

World Series matchup: St. Louis Cardinals over New York Yankees.

Red Sox saves leader: Anyone not named Craig Kimbrel.

Joe Murray (Over/Under 985 podcast):

Red Sox win total: 97 wins (2nd AL East)

Playoff outcome: Lose in the ALCS to Houston.

World Series matchup: Houston Astros over Los Angeles Dodgers.

Red Sox saves leader: Ryan Brasier.

Dan Lifshatz (Over/Under 985 podcast):

Red Sox win total: 90 wins (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: Sox will lose in ALCS to the Indians, 4-3.

World Series matchup: Cleveland Indians over St. Louis Cardinals.

Red Sox saves leader: Durbin Feltman.

Sean Sylver (98.5 The Sports Hub):

Red Sox win total: 95 wins (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: ALCS loss in a classic rematch with the Astros.

World Series matchup: Astros vs. Cubs in a matchup of former NL Central foes. As much as I''d love to say "Cubs win!" in Harry Caray's voice, the AL simply has the best teams.

Red Sox saves leader: Matt Barnes, but he won't be the "guy" when it comes to the postseason.

Matt Dolloff (985thesportshub.com):

Red Sox win total: 98 wins (2nd AL East).

Playoff outcome: ALCS loss to Astros.

World Series matchup: Houston Astros over Washington Nationals.

Red Sox saves leader: Matt Barnes.

Ty Anderson (985thesportshub.com):

Red Sox win total: 98 wins (1st AL East).

Playoff outcome: ALCS loss to Houston.

World Series matchup: Chicago Cubs over Houston Astros. The Cubs are actually gonna go 173-0, in case you're unaware. Best team in the whole world, you dummies. Infinitely better than Felger's Brewers.

Red Sox saves leader: Matt Barnes. But it won't be pretty.
