Two weeks ago, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman said his team did not sign Odell Beckham Jr. to a 5-year contract last year to then turn around and trade him.
That’s exactly what he just did.
The Giants have shipped the star wide receiver to the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster trade involving multiple draft picks.

The trade pairs Beckham Jr., one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL, with second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield.
The Beckham trade is the latest major deal involving a notable wide receiver. Antonio Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders over the weekend and several teams have spent big money already in free agency at wide receiver.
The Patriots were rumored to have contacted the Giants about Beckham’s availability in a trade last year, according to former NFL quarterback Chris Simms.
