New England Revolution

By Matt McCarthy,

The New England Revolution and the Montreal Impact have rescheduled their match on May 17 after the Revolution announced they would be playing English club Chelsea in a friendly match at Gillette Stadium on May 15.

The two sides will now meet in Montreal on May 18.

The Revolution and Chelsea announced their match earlier this week, with proceeds from ticket sales going to support efforts that promote equality and tolerance. Revolution owner Robert Kraft and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich also plan to donate $1 million each to programs aimed at ending antisemitism.

20-year-old Christian Pulisic, arguably the best American-born player in soccer today, is not expected to suit up for Chelsea for the match, according to ESPN FC. Pulisic will join Chelsea later this year after a $75 million transfer from German club Dortmund, but Dortmund is not expected to allow Pulisic to join Chelsea in time for the friendly in Foxboro.
