Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman showed up to the set of "Ellen" with the Lombardi Trophy and his massive playoff beard in tow. He left with only the trophy.

At the 7:50 mark of the above video, you can watch Edelman agree to let Ellen DeGeneres shave his entire beard off, using a real barber's chair and everything. Ellen offered to donate $10,000 to one of his favorite charities, the Boys & Girls Club of America, in exchange for shaving the beard off. Edelman agreed to it, and even matched her $10K donation.

By the end of it, Edelman looks pretty close to how he did in his rookie headshot from 2009.

At the end of the day, Edelman lost the beard for a great cause. And this just means he'll have another chance next January to grow out a beard fit for a family of birds.
