BOSTON – The Phoenix Suns entered Wednesday night with a 7-24 record, the worst in the NBA.
They left Boston with a 111-103 win over the Celtics. The Celtics fell to 18-12 with the loss.
The Green led by 12 points in the first half and had a 37-point first quarter, but struggled mightily in the second half on their way to defeat.
Suns guard Devin Booker had a team-high 25 points. Rookie Deandre Ayton had 23 points and 18 rebounds.
Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 29 points. Jayson Tatum added 18 points.
The Celtics were dominated on the glass, losing the rebounding battle 56-37.
Center Aron Baynes suffered a broken hand in the first quarter of the game and is expected to miss about a month.
The Celtics host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night at TD Garden.
