WASHINGTON – The Celtics extended their season-high winning streak to seven games with a thrilling 130-125 overtime victory against the Washington Wizards Wednesday night.

Kyrie Irving hit back-to-back three pointers late in overtime to propel the Celtics to the win. Irving stuck a shot from the corner before hitting a deep three-pointer to seal the game.

Irving had a game-high 37 points.

Marcus Morris was big down the stretch, scoring 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter.

Marcus Smart had a major impact on both ends of the floor with 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

John Wall had 34 points for Washington. Jeff Green and Bradley Beal added 22 points while Kelly Oubre had 20 points off the bench.

Al Horford sat out for the second straight game with left knee soreness. Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown are battling illnesses and did not play.

The Celtics return home on Friday night to host the Atlanta Hawks.
