A look at tonight’s scary-thin Celtics lineup against Pelicans

The Celtics are without almost their entire starting lineup tonight against the Pelicans.

What can only be described as a tornado of injuries has decimated the Celtics ahead of tonight's meeting with the Pelicans.

I mean, really.

The Celtics, winners  had already ruled out center Aron Baynes (left ankle sprain), guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder soreness), and big man Guerschon Yabusele (right ankle sprain) earlier in the day. They also considered center Al Horford (left knee soreness) and winger Gordon Hayward (illness) doubtful. But by head coach Brad Stevens and the media's pregame meet, both Hayward and Horford had officially been downgraded to out.

Sheesh!

The Celtics will roll with a Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Morris, and Daniel Theis starting lineup.

And in dire of need of some extra bodies off the bench as a response to the injuries, the Celtics have recalled both Robert Williams III and P.J. Dozier from the Maine Red Claws of the G League.

Oh, and to make matters worse, Pelicans center Anthony Davis, who was considered question to play in tonight's game, will indeed suit up and will be without a minutes restriction of any sort.
