BOSTON- The chorus of concern surrounding the Boston Celtics just got louder.
The Celtics were beat by the lowly New York Knicks Wednesday night 117-109. The final score was closer than much of the game.
The Green trailed by as much as 26 points in the second quarter. They cut the lead to four points with under one minute remaining in the game.
But New York’s Trey Burke capped off a big night with a dagger 3-pointer late. He scored 29 points in total off the bench.
Kyrie Irving played well again for Boston, tallying 22 points and 13 assists. Marcus Morris had 21 points and Gordon Hayward has a season-high 19 points.
With the win, the Knicks improved to 5-14 on the year. The Celtics dropped to 9-9.
