Ron Chenoy/USA TODAY SportsPatriots tight end Dwayne Allen is expected to miss some time after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans.
According to Mike Giardi of NFL Network, Allen could miss a few weeks but will not need surgery.
If Allen is unable to play in Week 12 against the Jets, it will put more focus on Rob Gronkowski's availability. Gronk has missed three out of the last four games with back and ankle problems.
The Patriots ended Sunday's game against the Titans with only one healthy tight end, second-year player Jacob Hollister. Hollister has missed much of the season with a lingering hamstring problem.
The Pats are carrying Stephen Anderson, a tight end, on their practice squad.
