Patriots veteran linebacker Dont’a Hightower and rookie running back Sony Michel will headline the list of inactive Patriots for tonight’s Monday Night Football meeting with the rival Buffalo Bills.
Hightower’s absence comes after a knee injury limited him throughout practice all week, and a week after he was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week following his blocked punt against the Chicago Bears. The 28-year-old Hightower finished that game with a season-high four tackles, and has 13 tackles and an interception this year.
Michel, meanwhile, was a limited participant on Saturday, but was considered doubtful to play.
Good news is that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who missed last week’s win over the Bears with a back injury, is expected to play.
