The Dodgers represented the National League in the 2017 World Series, and ultimately fell in a seven-game series loss to the Houston Astros. The Red Sox, of course, knocked off the Astros in the 2018 American League Championship Series. And as a fun sidenote, 2004 Red Sox playoff hero Dave Roberts is the current manager of the Dodgers.
This will also be the first World Series between the Red Sox and Dodger franchises since the 1916 World Series between the Red Sox and Brooklyn Robins. The Red Sox ultimately won that series four games to one.
Game 1 will be Tuesday night at Fenway Park as Clayton Kershaw will go against Chris Sale.
